Positions Available:
Position: Laborer
Role: Construction laborers and helpers work on almost all construction sites, doing a wide range of tasks from the very easy to difficult and potentially hazardous. Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating materials. Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles). Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
Tools & Equipment Used: Shovels, brooms, non-powered hand tools such as hammers, screw-drivers, wrenches, grease guns and the like. Powered hand tools, such as drills, roto/impact-hammers, saws, jackhammers, compressors and air powered tools. Pickup, trailers, small equipment. This list is not all inclusive but summarizes some of the tools that could be used on a typical job.
Position: Operator
Role: Operators drive and/or operate heavy equipment such as motor grader, backhoe, front end loader, excavator and other similar motorized equipment in the maintenance, repair, installation, and reconstruction of water, sewer lines, earthmoving and site development along with other related activities. Employee will safely and competently operate machinery equipped with scoops, shovels, buckets or forks to excavate and load materials.
Employee will inspect equipment prior to operation to ensure that equipment is functional and within the capabilities of the specific equipment able to safely accomplish the task. Employee will from time to time perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. Employee shall assist in the general maintenance of equipment to help keep equipment safe, operational and able to function properly.
Position: Pipe Layer
Role: Employee will be responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Employee will work the majority of the time laying pipe in a trench in a multitude of conditions. Will ensure ground is prepped and trenches dug out for pipe placement. Pipe will be laid in the trenches by hand and where necessary with assistance from various machines. Aligns pipes and seals joints together with cement or glue. Employee will be checking the grade and specification relative to the plans and assuring quality workmanship of the installation. The employee may from time to time shovel gravel or dirt in the process of installation. Employee may also be required to operate equipment such as a backhoe, loader or excavator in safe manor.
Position: Truck Driver
Role: The employee will safely and competently drive company trucks and pull trailers to transport materials and equipment to specific destinations. Employee will Inspects truck and trailer before and after trips to ensure safe operation and submit reports indicating trucks condition. When transporting equipment or material, fastens chain or binders to safely secure load on trailer for transit and that all OR-ODOT rules and regulations are followed at all times. Employee will assure that truck and/or trailer does not exceed weight requirements when hauling materials and/or equipment. Truck will be kept clean and in safe working order. Truck and trailer will be cleaned of debris after loading/unloading of materials to eliminate possible hazards.
